Gnetum edule merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Gnetaceae yang memiliki pola tumbuh memanjat. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah di wilayah India barat daya. Nama ilmiah Gnetum edule pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Carl Ludwig von Willdenow pada tahun 1834.
