Gomphrena boliviana merupakan tumbuhan semusim dari famili Amaranthaceae (suku bayam-bayaman). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Bolivia selatan hingga Argentina bagian utara. Nama ilmiah Gomphrena boliviana diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Christian Horace Bénédict Alfred Moquin-Tandon pada tahun 1849.
