Gossypium herbaceum subsp. africanum adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan berbentuk perdu dari famili Malvaceae (suku kapas-kapasan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma gurun pasir atau sabana kering di wilayah Afrika Selatan dan kawasan tropis Afrika bagian selatan. Nama ilmiah Gossypium herbaceum subsp. africanum diperkenalkan oleh George Watt pada tahun 1987.
