Gossypium vollesenii merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk perdu dari famili Malvaceae (suku kapas-kapasan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma gurun pasir atau sabana kering di wilayah Somalia utara. Nama ilmiah Gossypium vollesenii diperkenalkan oleh Paul Arnold Fryxell pada tahun 1992.
