Gratiola officinalis merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Plantaginaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Eropa, Xinjiang utara, Iran utara, hingga Maroko. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan hedgehyssop. Nama ilmiah Gratiola officinalis pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Carolus Linnaeus dalam Species Plantarum tahun 1753.
