Grewia hornbyi merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk perdu dari famili Malvaceae (suku kapas-kapasan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Mozambique selatan hingga KwaZulu-Natal. Nama ilmiah Grewia hornbyi diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Hiram Wild pada tahun 1957.
