Grewia mollis merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk perdu atau pohon dari famili Malvaceae (suku kapas-kapasan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering di kawasan tropis Afrika, Jazirah Arab selatan. Nama ilmiah Grewia mollis diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Antoine Laurent de Jussieu pada tahun 1804.
