Grindelia ciliata merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Asteraceae (suku aster-asteran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang di wilayah Amerika Serikat (bagian barat, tengah, dan timur-tengah). Nama ilmiah Grindelia ciliata diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Thomas Nuttall pada tahun 1826.
