Gunnera mexicana adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan menahun dari famili Gunneraceae. Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan membentuk rimpang atau stolon. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis di wilayah Meksiko (Veracruz, Chiapas). Nama ilmiah Gunnera mexicana pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Townshend Stith Brandegee pada tahun 1922.
