Gymnema lactiferum adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan dari famili Apocynaceae yang memiliki pola tumbuh memanjat. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari India selatan dan Assam hingga kawasan Malesia barat. Nama ilmiah Gymnema lactiferum diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Robert Brown pada tahun 1820.
