Gymnema rotundatum merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Apocynaceae yang memiliki pola tumbuh memanjat. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering di wilayah Sri Lanka. Nama ilmiah Gymnema rotundatum diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama George Henry Kendrick Thwaites pada tahun 1860.
