Gymnema sylvestre (Retz.) R.Br. ex Sm.

Gymnema sylvestre merupakan tumbuhan berkayu dari famili Apocynaceae. Spesies ini memiliki pola hidup memanjat dengan akar tetap di tanah (liana). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering di kawasan tropis dan subtropis Afrika, Eropa dan Asia. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan miracle fruit. Nama ilmiah Gymnema sylvestre diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Anders Johan Retzius pada tahun 1811.
