Gymnosporia serrata merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk perdu atau pohon dari famili Celastraceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma gurun pasir atau sabana kering dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Eritrea hingga Ethiopia utara. Nama ilmiah Gymnosporia serrata pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Christian Ferdinand Friedrich Hochstetter pada tahun 1908.
