Gypsophila repens merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Caryophyllaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang di wilayah daerah pegunungan di Eropa tengah dan selatan. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan creeping baby's-breath. Nama ilmiah Gypsophila repens pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Carolus Linnaeus dalam Species Plantarum tahun 1753.
