Harpachne schimperi adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan menahun dari famili Poaceae (suku rumput-rumputan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Rep. Kongo, Eritrea, kawasan tropis Afrika bagian selatan, hingga Jazirah Arab. Nama ilmiah Harpachne schimperi diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Christian Ferdinand Friedrich Hochstetter pada tahun 1850.
