Hedychium horsfieldii merupakan tumbuhan epifit dari famili Zingiberaceae (suku temu-temuan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah di wilayah Jawa. Nama ilmiah Hedychium horsfieldii diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Robert Brown pada tahun 1853.
