Heliconia platystachys adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan dari famili Heliconiaceae. Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan membentuk akar rimpang. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Kosta Rika hingga Venezuela. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan false bird of paradise. Nama ilmiah Heliconia platystachys diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama John Gilbert Baker pada tahun 1893.
