Helicteres heptandra merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk perdu dari famili Malvaceae (suku kapas-kapasan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Venezuela (Bolívar) hingga Brazil. Nama ilmiah Helicteres heptandra pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Lyman Bradford Smith pada tahun 1937.
