Helminthotheca echioides adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan semusim atau menahun dari famili Asteraceae (suku aster-asteran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Mediterania hingga Kaukasia, Eropa timur hingga Turkmenistan. Nama ilmiah Helminthotheca echioides diperkenalkan oleh Josef Ludwig Holub pada tahun 1973.
