Hemerocallis thunbergii merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Asphodelaceae. Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan membentuk bonggol berbentuk umbi. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang di wilayah Jepang (Hokkaido timur dan selatan). Nama ilmiah Hemerocallis thunbergii pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Peter Barr pada tahun 1873.
