Heteropterys megaptera merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Malpighiaceae yang memiliki pola tumbuh memanjat. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Venezuela, Guyana, hingga Brazil timur. Nama ilmiah Heteropterys megaptera diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Adrien-Henri de Jussieu pada tahun 1840.
