Hibiscus ambovombensis merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk pohon dari famili Malvaceae (suku kapas-kapasan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering di wilayah Madagaskar. Nama ilmiah Hibiscus ambovombensis diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Bénédict Pierre Georges Hochreutiner pada tahun 1949.
