Hibiscus costatus adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan berbentuk perdu dari famili Malvaceae (suku kapas-kapasan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Meksiko, Amerika tengah, hingga Kuba. Nama ilmiah Hibiscus costatus diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Achille Richard pada tahun 1841.
