Wora-wari gantung adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan perdu dari famili Malvaceae (suku kapas-kapasan). Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan tumbuh menjalar. Tumbuhan yang dikenal dengan nama ilmiah Hibiscus schizopetalus ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Kenya tenggara hingga Tanzania timur. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan fringed rosemallow. Nama ilmiah Hibiscus schizopetalus diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Maxwell Tylden Masters pada tahun 1880.
