Hieracium compositum merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Asteraceae (suku aster-asteran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Pyrenees hingga Spanyol utara dan utara-tengah. Nama ilmiah Hieracium compositum diperkenalkan oleh Baron Philippe-Isidore Picot de Lapeyrouse (La Peirouse) pada tahun 1813.
