Hippocrepis ciliata merupakan tumbuhan semusim dari famili Fabaceae (suku polong-polongan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis di wilayah Mediterania. Nama ilmiah Hippocrepis ciliata pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Carl Ludwig von Willdenow pada tahun 1808.
