Houstonia acerosa var. acerosa merupakan tumbuhan perdu kecil dari famili Rubiaceae (suku kopi-kopian). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Texas barat daya hingga Meksiko timur laut. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan needleleaf bluet.
