Huperzia hypogaea merupakan tumbuhan perdu kecil dari famili Lycopodiaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Kolombia selatan hingga Bolivia barat. Nama ilmiah Huperzia hypogaea diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Benjamin Øllgaard pada tahun 1988.
