Hydnophytum petiolatum var. nigrescens merupakan tumbuhan semak dari famili Rubiaceae (suku kopi-kopian). Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan tumbuh menempel di batang pohon lain (epifit) dan membentuk bonggol pada batang (caudex). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah di wilayah Papua Papua. Nama ilmiah Hydnophytum petiolatum var. nigrescens diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Elmer Drew Merrill pada tahun 2019.
