Hydrocotyle moschata merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Araliaceae (suku mangkok-mangkokan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Selandia Baru hingga Kepulauan Kermadec. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan musky marshpennywort. Nama ilmiah Hydrocotyle moschata pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis George Forster pada tahun 1786.
