Hydrolea floribunda merupakan tumbuhan semusim dari famili Hydroleaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari kawasan tropis Afrika bagian barat hingga Uganda barat daya. Nama ilmiah Hydrolea floribunda diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Carl Georg Theodor Kotschy pada tahun 1867.
