Hydrolea spinosa adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan berbentuk perdu dari famili Hydroleaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering di kawasan tropis dan subtropis Amerika . Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan spiny false fiddleleaf. Nama ilmiah Hydrolea spinosa diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Carolus Linnaeus pada tahun 1753.
