Hygrophila erecta adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan perdu kecil dari famili Acanthaceae (suku jeruju-jerujuan). Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan tumbuh pada genangan air (helofit). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Brazil selatan hingga Argentina (Misiones dan Corrientes). Nama ilmiah Hygrophila erecta pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Nicolaas Laurens Burman pada tahun 1934.
