Hymenocoleus hirsutus merupakan tumbuhan perdu kecil dari famili Rubiaceae (suku kopi-kopian). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah di kawasan tropis Afrika. Nama ilmiah Hymenocoleus hirsutus pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis George Bentham pada tahun 1975.
