Hymenopappus filifolius var. lugens merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Asteraceae (suku aster-asteran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari wilayah sepanjang Amerika Serikat barat daya hingga New Mexico dan Meksiko (Baja California Norte). Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan fineleaf hymenopappus. Nama ilmiah Hymenopappus filifolius var. lugens pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Edward Lee Greene pada tahun 1925.
