Hypericophyllum elatum merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Asteraceae (suku aster-asteran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Sudan Selatan hingga Afrika Selatan. Nama ilmiah Hypericophyllum elatum diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Karl August Otto Hoffmann pada tahun 1902.
