Hypochaeris elata merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Asteraceae (suku aster-asteran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma pegunungan tropis dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Kolombia hingga Argentina bagian utara. Nama ilmiah Hypochaeris elata pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis August Heinrich Rudolf Grisebach pada tahun 1874.
