Hypochaeris taraxacoides merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Asteraceae (suku aster-asteran) yang tumbuh dalam bentuk perdu kecil atau semak. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma pegunungan tropis dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari EKolombia timur laut, Peru hingga Argentina barat laut. Nama ilmiah Hypochaeris taraxacoides diperkenalkan oleh John Ball pada tahun 1885.
