Hypoestes rosea merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Acanthaceae (suku jeruju-jerujuan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Nigeria hingga Kamerun. Nama ilmiah Hypoestes rosea pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Ambroise Marie François Joseph Palisot de Beauvois pada tahun 1818.
