Hypoestes serpens merupakan tumbuhan perdu kecil dari famili Acanthaceae (suku jeruju-jerujuan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma pegunungan tropis di wilayah Madagaskar, Mauritius. Nama ilmiah Hypoestes serpens pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Martin Vahl pada tahun 1817.
