Hypogomphia turkestana merupakan tumbuhan semusim dari famili Lamiaceae (suku nilam-nilaman). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Iran timur hingga Asia tengah. Nama ilmiah Hypogomphia turkestana pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Alexander Andrejewitsch von Bunge pada tahun 1872.
