Hypoxis hirsuta adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan dari famili Hypoxidaceae. Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan membentuk bonggol berbentuk umbi. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Kanada bagian tengah dan timur hingga Meksiko (Tamualipas). Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan common goldstar. Nama ilmiah Hypoxis hirsuta pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Frederick Vernon Coville pada tahun 1894.
