Hypoxis urceolata merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Hypoxidaceae. Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan membentuk akar rimpang. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Rep. Kongo, Eritrea, Tanzania, hingga Jazirah Arab barat daya. Nama ilmiah Hypoxis urceolata pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Gert Cornelius Nel pada tahun 1914.
