Hyptis nigrescens merupakan tumbuhan perdu kecil dari famili Lamiaceae (suku nilam-nilaman). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering di wilayah Brazil bagian barat. Nama ilmiah Hyptis nigrescens pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Johann Baptist Emanuel Pohl pada tahun 1833.
