Ilex asperula merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Aquifoliaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari Brazil tengah dan timur. Nama ilmiah Ilex asperula pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Carl Friedrich Philipp von Martius pada tahun 1861.
