Ilex asperula var. pyrenea merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Aquifoliaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering di wilayah Brazil tengah. Nama ilmiah Ilex asperula var. pyrenea pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Ludwig Eduard Theodor Loesener pada tahun 1901.
