Ilex excavata merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk pohon dari famili Aquifoliaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Kamboja hingga Vietnam. Nama ilmiah Ilex excavata pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Jean Baptiste Louis Pierre pada tahun 1893.
