Ilex excelsa var. hypotricha adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan berbentuk perdu atau pohon dari famili Aquifoliaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Himalaya hingga China (Yunnan). Nama ilmiah Ilex excelsa var. hypotricha pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Ludwig Eduard Theodor Loesener pada tahun 1949.
