Ilex retusa adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan berbentuk perdu atau pohon dari famili Aquifoliaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Kolombia tenggara hingga Guyana dan Brazil. Nama ilmiah Ilex retusa pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Johann Friedrich Klotzsch pada tahun 1861.
