Ilex trichothyrsa merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Aquifoliaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah di wilayah Brazil tenggara. Nama ilmiah Ilex trichothyrsa pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Ludwig Eduard Theodor Loesener pada tahun 1901.
